One Month!

I can't believe that our baby girl is a month old now! Time is going by too fast already.

Evangeline is getting big quick, too! She's getting chubby! She's only able to fit into a few newborn outfits. She's moved on to the 3 month section of the closet. She's getting heavier, but I kinda like that - I don't feel like I'm going to break her when I hold her. I don't know exactly how much she weighs, though. Maybe I'll figure that out.
She's sleeping pretty well at night! We started out trying to have her in her crib all the time, but I was waking up a lot. One night when I was nursing her we both fell asleep and hours went by. That's when I realized that she needed to co-sleep. I slept on the bed in her room for a couple weeks and that worked out pretty well. She would sleep on my chest, or right next to me. Now we have her in a bassinet next to our bed. Keith missed me. :)

As for Keith and I, we are surviving! For the first couple of weeks Keith was really hands-on with the baby, but since he's gone back to work, it's mostly me who takes care of her. He is a big help when I really need it, though. He has taken care of her when I am just too tired to function, and he has watched her at home while I've gone out for a much needed (and appreciated!) shopping trip on several occasions. I love that.
I'm trying to adjust to the whole "mom" thing. I don't know much about babies, so I get a lot of help from my mom (She's been a life saver as well). She helped me one night when Evangeline just wouldn't sleep. I stress out about what is normal and not normal, and I am often on babycenter.com to look things up. Sometimes I get really frustrated and then Evangeline does something really sweet like looks at me and smiles, or snuggles up to my neck and whimpers. She is such a sweet little girl and makes all the hard work worthwhile.
Since I don't have anywhere to be during the day, I can nap when she naps, and it's not a big deal if I don't get much sleep the night before. Being a stay-at-home mom is great!
