Day 19 - Talents

I was trying to think of a talent that I haven't already demonstrated on the blog. Then I realized that Keith and I have one talent in common: Music!

Keith is very musical. He plays the piano best. He also plays the guitar and bass guitar. He is really good with all those instruments, but his best is on the piano. He can pretty much play any song you ask him to. He plays by ear! He amazes me.

I'm pretty musical myself. I don't have a passion for music like Keith does, but I love to sing (not very well), and I've played some instruments back in the day. When I was little (about 4 or 5 years old) I had a little keyboard that I would play around with. My brother taught me how to play "When the Saints go Marching" on it, and I would pick up songs I heard and play them. My favorites were the themes from Jurassic Park and the Addams Family. I can still learn to play any tune within a minute or so.

When I was in 6th grade our school had us play instruments. I decided to play the violin. We were taught how to read the music sheets, but I never caught on because I would hear the song and just be like "ok this is how it goes" and played it. That's how it went in middle school too. We had performances for the school and everything, and I would just remember how my part went in my head. It was pretty neat.

Here's a picture of Keith and I while he was playing the piano. He kinda just zones out and ignores everything around him... lol

Day 18 - Our Wedding 8.8.08

I never really got to talk about our wedding, because I started this blog a couple months after we got married, so I'm excited to tell you all about it! Just so you know, this is from ANGELA'S point of view. :)

First of all, I LOVED planning everything. I loved making all of my invitations by hand; designing them on the computer, and then cutting the paper and gluing the papers individually. I loved shopping with my mom to find all of the decorations. It was so much fun. I wish I could do it all the time.

A couple days before the wedding, all of my brothers and sisters on my moms side (except for Jason) flew out from California! It meant SO much to me to have them all there. I wish Jason could have come, but he and Terrie were very close to having a baby at the time and didn't want to risk anything - very understandable!

They were also a big help because they were pretty much my decorating crew. My brothers worked all day to hang my Chinese lanterns up by fishing wire. My sisters were all my maids of honor; helping me with everything I needed. I think I would have been lost without
them all! There's another benefit of having so many siblings. haha

The night before the wedding we all went out to dinner on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. My siblings had never been to San Antonio, so it was a lot of fun to see all the sights with them and goof around!

WEDDING DAY: August 8th, 2008
I didn't have a bachelorette party or anything like that, so my sisters all took me to IHOP for breakfast that morning. I had the Rooty-Tooty Fresh and Fruity with blueberry pancakes. The reason I remember this so well is because when I was trying to cut the pancakes with my fork for the first bite, the blueberries ended up ALL over my clothes. It was hilarious. haha

We went home, and I took a shower and got ready for my nail, hair and makeup appointments. While going from place to place, I would stop and see how decorating was going and help out a bit, but I mostly just relaxed and watched. I needed to keep as calm as possible, because I was getting married in a couple hours. EEEEEE!

At about 4:30pm we gathered everything together and drove to the San Antonio temple. I was SO nervous, but SO happy. When I walked into the temple, I saw Keith inside waiting for me in his handsome suit. We told each other how good we looked. I couldn't believe it was actually happening! First, we went to the temple presidents office and he talked to us a bit. Wh
en we signed our recommends my hands were so shaky that my signature looked all squiggly. It's fun to look at it now and laugh at it. After we were done there, Keith and I went our separate ways.

Now, in my wedding dress, I went to the Celestial room of the temple to meet with my future husband. It was such an amazing moment to be in there alone with him and just think about our future together, and that we would be together forever. It was beautiful.

We walked together to the Sealing room where our family was all waiting for us. During the ceremony I tried so hard not to cry - success! THEN, we were officially married.
YAY! Best day ever.

We walked out of the temple and everyone was taking pictures of us. I loved it! Though, it was a little awkward because no one was really clapping or cheering, but I only noticed until I watched the video. lol We then took our formal pictures with the photographer and went to my house for the reception.

The house looked SO good! I was very happy with everything. It was a very nice reception with lots of family and great music - no dancing though - not enough room in the house for a dance floor. :)

The only sad thing is that it seemed to have gone by too fast. It was a great day...

Here's a video of the day:

Happy Birthday to Angela!

Monday, the 13th was my birthday! I'm getting old.
The Lindsey side of the family came to visit from Texas for a week. It was a lot of fun!

On my birthday we all went skiing and snowboarding at the Sundance resort. I was really scared so I wasn't all that excited, but it turned out to be a good learning experience! I learned how to ski, and I learned that I don't like skiing. I fell down SO many times and it was really frustrating. I think I would enjoy snowboarding more. After my lessons, I sat the rest of the day out next to the fire pit. MMM...

On our way home we picked up a cake for me. On the way to Walmart I got an email amongst all the birthday notifications on Facebook from the job I had interviewed for earlier that week. They said I didn't get it. This was devastating
for me, because I was 98% sure I would get it, and I was making all kinds of plans for the future, and I got my hopes up. They couldn't have waited one more day to let me know. Granted, they had no way of knowing it was my birthday, but still. It put a damper on my already frustrating day...

We got home and celebrated my birthday. I invited Brittney over and she got to meet the family. I hadn't talked to her in a while, so it was nice to see her. We ate cake and I opened presents. It was a nice evening to my frustrating day. :)

Day 17 - A piece of art

This is my favorite thing I've ever painted! It was one of my first art projects in my Art 1 class at Vintage High when I was a freshman. I was so proud of myself! It was fun to paint, too! I miss that art class. Mrs Golick really pushed us to go above and beyond, and to see things in a different way.

I need to start painting again...

Day 16 - A song that makes us cry.

You probably guessed it. It's a Disney song.

"When you wish upon a star"

First of all, the song is beautifully written and sung. But the reason it makes me cry is because on my first day at Disneyland I heard this song while waiting in line to get in. That's when it hit me. I thought, "This is actually happening! I'm at DISNEYLAND!" and I cried tears of joy. Now, every time I hear it, I am brought back to that moment, that day, and feeling of pure happiness.

Nowadays when Keith and I hear it, it reminds us to work harder so that we can go back to Florida. :)

Here's another one.

This is the song they play during some commercials, and at opening and closing of the parks at Disney. It just makes me miss home. :)

Day 15 - Our (my) dream home!

This is not it. It's just an idea of the style I'd like it to look like. :D

I would like a small 2-story home - old or new. I think I would enjoy an older house that I could make look like new. I love projects like that. Plus, I think older homes have more character than the newer cookie-cutter homes. The perfect location would be Celebration, Florida (a small town next to Disney World OWNED by Disney!) It's perfect for Keith and I. Too bad we will probably never afford to live there...

My dream home would have 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms - A big master bedroom for Keith and I and a master bathroom with a garden tub. Then a room for studying or work, and 2 bedrooms for our 3 kids we will have.

Then I would need to have a TV room for the kids to watch their kid shows, and for Keith to experiment with things like this: (picture of GT seat) and not mess up our living room. :)

I would like a bright, open kitchen with lots of storage space.

Another thing I think is a big deal for me is WINDOWS. I love windows, so the bigger the better.

A nice yard wouldn't hurt, either. :)

Oh, Christmas Tree...

We finally decorated a tree! I have been waiting patiently since Halloween to do this. So we finally got our tree on December 1st, but it took us 5 days to agree to all get together to decorate. I'm happy it's finally done. I was getting super impatient! (I was going to go on and gripe about WHY it took so long, but I'll save that for another time.) We put on the Disney Family Christmas album while the guys put on the lights. Then Raquel and I put the decorations on. I really appreciated the guys taking the time to be with us.

Before:

After!

It's a real tree, by the way! It's been so long since I've had a real tree that I don't even remember the last time I had one. I really miss my black tree. Keith says he'll get us one when we move back to Florida. Hopefully that will be soon. :D

Day 14 - shoes.

My favorite shoes. I love them because they go with just about everything I own. I can wear them casually and to church. I got them for $20 at Target a few years ago. I liked them so much I bought a white pair too, but they got really dirty so I got rid of them. :(
Now that it's winter I don't wear them as much, but they're still my favorites!

Keith's favorite shoes. SAMBAS! He got these a couple years ago, and he still wears the heck out of them. I like them too. They're getting worn out so I might have to buy him a new pair soon. :)

Look, we're both wearing those shoes in our engagement pictures! lol
