California Trip!

Despite the circumstances in which I was there, I had an amazing time in California. It was SO nice to see my Silveira family. The last time I saw everyone was before I moved to Texas over 6 years ago. Too long.

I stayed with my brother Donald and his family. He's got two little girls named Bailey and Bethany that I probably met once or twice. They're now 10 and 11 years old. My niece Amber, who recently got married, was staying at Don's house too along with her mom. It was really nice to get to know them all a bit better. It made me really happy.

We looked through lots of pictures when I was there. It was nice to reminisce about each other. I learned a lot about my brother who passed away, and also about my father and his parents.

Don and I were able to go visit our dads grave while we were there. I have only visited it once since he died because it's hard for me to think about. But this time I wanted to. It was a good bonding time for my brother and I. We also went to see our dad's hometown and got to see his childhood home and even his high school. I loved that.

This trip made me wish I had visited them more often when I was in California. I'm definitely going to change that. I'd like to visit all my family more often than I do. If that means I have to live closer, than maybe we'll move! We're definitely thinking about that...

Yesterday after work I found out that my oldest brother, Mike Silveira died. He was 54 years old.

The first thing that came to my mind was that I hoped he went in peace. It doesn't look like that's the case. It seems to be a homicide!

I never ever thought this would happen to a member of my family. I am so heartbroken!

It breaks my heart that I haven't seen him in so long. The last time I saw him I think was a couple years after our dad passed away. I could have gone to my nieces' wedding last month where he walked her down the aisle, but it was too far and I couldn't get the time off. I regret that SO much now. It would have been a happy reunion.

My heart is aching for his kids right now. I can't imagine what they're going through. They're about the same age as me. I lost my father at a young age, but it wasn't anything like this. I'm so happy for Amber that her father was able to walk her down the aisle.

Keith and I are going to the funeral in California. We don't know when it will be, but we're gonna go no matter what. I'll reunite with my Silveira family and they'll get to meet Keith for the first time. I just wish it was for a happier occasion.

God be with you till we meet again, big brother.

Not much...

Nothing blog worthy has happened since my last post, so here's another round of random updates.

1. Keith is all recovered from his surgery. He missed 2 weeks of work, and I missed 6 days, which is rough on the bank account, but it was totally worth it for me. We needed a vacation. Unfortunately we couldn't do anything fun because Keith was calling in sick (no Disney trips) and they day we were going to go to the beach, it rained. BOO.

2. I got deployed to the Contemporary again, but not the part I like. I had 10 checkouts the first day. I don't like it there, but it's not Fort Wilderness, so I'll take it!
Last week I was deployed at the Grand Floridian. It's the most expensive place to stay at the Walt Disney World Resort. When celebrities come to visit, that's where they stay (There was a Full House episode where they all stayed there, and when Michael Jackson came to visit, he would reserve several floors for him and his crew). So it's fancy. It was really intimidating being there. They have inspectors that inspect every room you do and make sure everything is perfect. I was really nervous at first, but the area I worked in turned out to be not as strict as the others, so it was nice. I feel like I learned a lot from the Grand. Plus, the managers were super nice and were willing to help (Unlike other places I've been). It was a good experience!

3. I found my perfect swimsuit. It looks like this:

Only I look better in it of course. HAHA yeah right. But seriously, I look good. It accentuates the positive and hides the negative. I think this style would flatter anyone. Also, everywhere I've looked, this swimsuit has been around $100. I got it for $25 at Marshall's. Awesome. I'm excited to wear it to the beach or something!

4. Keith's family is coming to visit again! I think they like that we live so close to Disney World because this will be the 4th trip from Texas in 1 year! We love visitors, and we love them! So we're excited. They'll be here for 2 weeks (May 9th -22nd) Hopefully we can get some time off work so we can spend time with them.

5. WEIRD AL IS COMING TO ORLANDO. July 21st. I am so excited. That is all.
