Girls/Guys Weekend

This weekend, the ladies of Keith's side of the family came to Florida, and Keith went to Utah to spend time with his brothers! At first I was jealous that Keith was going to Utah, because I have a lot of friends and my mom over there who I'd like to visit, but it turned out to be an awesome weekend! I'm so glad it was just us girls, because it allowed us to bond. We had so much fun.

I'll start with what I know from Keith's vacation.

He flew to Utah on Thursday and stayed at his Uncle Scott's house where Steve lives. His brother Eric flew from Texas, and they all met up with their old childhood friends. They did all kinds of guy things. They shot each other with air soft guns and played video games, they went skiing/snowboarding, and whatever else guys do... Who knows. lol They had a lot of fun, and I'm glad he was able to reunite with the guys. Keith was sick with another sinus infection, so it wasn't as fun as it could have been, but he still had a blast.

Ok now the girls. :)

Keith's mom, sister Shannon, and our sister-in-law Rakel came on Thursday night. They got settled in and we stayed up til 2 in the morning talking about girl things.
The next day, Friday, we went to the Boardwalk to show them all where I work, and then we went to Epcot. The Flower and Garden festival is going on now, so we walked around and took pictures of all the topiary bushes. We did a lot of window shopping at the different countries in World Showcase. We didn't get to do that the last time because of all the people, so it was nice to just take it all in. When we were in Japan, Keith's mom told us she wanted to get us each a little gift to commemorate the trip. So we went to this jewelry stand where you pick out an oyster and get whatever pearl is inside, then you choose it's setting. We all got very unique pearls! Shannon got the biggest one, and Rakel got the rarest - a silver one! We decided to put them on matching bracelets! They're very pretty.

The reason they all came out to Florida was so we could all go to Time Out for Women. It's a conference where women in the church talk about womanly things. We went on Friday evening and Saturday morning. It was nice to hear some inspirational messages and hang out with the ladies. We didn't stay too long though, because we got kinda bored. On Saturday we stayed until lunch time, and then we went to Hollywood Studios.

I only had to work on one day while they were here. On Sunday I went to work and gave the girls some park tickets so they could go to Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom while I was gone. Keith left his car for them to use while he was gone so they had a lot of freedom to go wherever they wanted. However, Keith's car is old and not very reliable so it died on their way to the Magic Kingdom. Luckily we have amazing cast members here at Disney, and they helped my mother-in-law a LOT. Not only did this guy tow the car to our apartment (which they aren't allowed to do, but we live close enough so it was okay), but they took her to the Magic Kingdom after that! So nice.

I was working at the Contemporary that day, so after work I just hopped on over to the MK to meet them! We had a great time! It was probably my favorite day they were here. We just goofed off like little girls. It was so fun.

We were so worn out by the end of the trip that on the last day they were here, we just took it easy. We walked around Downtown Disney and went mini golfing. Then for dinner we went to the Rain Forest Cafe. We got a free desert because there was paper in my shrimp scampi. Woot! haha... Since it was our last day together we really didn't want to go to bed, so we stayed up really late and only got 3 hours of sleep.

It's so cool how much we bonded. If you look at the pictures we took, in the beginning we were really far apart and not as friendly looking, but towards the end we were all really close in our pictures. I'm really glad we did this because now I know my family a lot better and hopefully we'll continue to be close throughout our lives! :)
