I had a total of 4 Thanksgiving feasts. One on the Sunday before Thanksgiving at work, the one for Keith and I, then a nasty cafeteria version at work on Thanksgiving. On the 1st of December we had a party at our place for the other college program people who didn't have family in town where we ate Thanksgiving food. Lots of food. It was fun!
Work: After working in housekeeping for 5 months, you are eligible for deployment. You get deployed when your resort doesn't have high occupancy, but another resort does and doesn't have enough housekeepers. So of course, I get deployed to the worst resort for housekeeping: Fort Wilderness. It's so pretty and I'd love to stay there, but working there is a nightmare. It's a bunch of one bedroom cabins with full kitchens, Murphy beds and bunk beds. 4 beds all together. I'm used to 2 in each room - only one used if I'm lucky. So with 4 beds that are usually all used all the time, it's so hard to be as fast as they want me to be there. Beds have never been my strong point anyway. My first day was good. I only had 7 rooms and I finished early. The next day was really bad. I had 10 rooms, and 3 of them were checkouts. If I had this at the boardwalk, I would have been so happy, but at the Fort I was dreading it. I got my 3 checkouts finished, and one occupied room ONLY. I take forever to do checkouts here because of the bunk bed and because since it's out in the woods, dirt shows up right after you get rid of it. And then the occupied room I did wanted me to go back and change the sheets. GAH. Let's just say I cried a LOT. And it was a horrible day. I felt like I wasn't making a good first impression on the managers there. I miss the Boardwalk soooo bad.
In other news: Keith bought me a new camera! He got it for me for my birthday on Cyber Monday. He told me I had to wait til my birthday, but he couldn't wait when It came last Saturday so he let me open it. I like it a lot! It's a Nikon D3000. I am still trying to figure everything out, but when I do I'll be awesome. haha. I've been wanting to take it to the parks on my days off, but it's either too hot or too rainy outside. Boo.

Thanksgiving, work, and such,
Our Thanksgiving was really awesome. We celebrated the day before because we were both working on Thanksgiving Day. When I got home from work, Keith and I both went to Target and bought all our food we needed. We got a rotisserie chicken already cooked, some pumpkin pie, stove top stuffing, and crescent rolls. We actually made the mashed potatoes, which were awesome. It was a cute little dinner. And it was really yummy!

nom nom.

That's a great camera! Especially for a starter SLR. That guide feature is going to be your saving grace as you get started in learning how to use all the settings! Have fun!!
