Soo Keith and I have had some real hardships at work lately. Keith feels like he doesn't get paid enough for what he does, and I feel like the things they want me doing there in the amount of time they need it done is physically impossible. Plus, we just don't like the way things are done at Hobby Lobby. We come home frustrated beyond belief, sometimes to tears for me. It is just a physically and emotionally hard environment to work in. We have been working there for a year and a half, and it's time to leave.
Yesterday we put in our two-week notice. Instead of working, Keith is going to take some student loans out, and go to school full time. Plus, he's teaching piano classes at home now. As for me, I will find a job elsewhere. If I can't, and we end up struggling, I can always go back to Hobby Lobby. I'm sure they'll take me back, and I can suffer. I'm almost done with my classes at Penn Foster, so maybe I can get a good design job. I had someone at church today ask me to pick out some curtains for her and she said she would pay me! So that's exciting.
So because of this break we'll have during Christmas time, we thought it would be fun to take a road trip to California! My mom is already out there, so we're here all alone! I like being with family, and I love visiting Cali. It's been a long time since we were there last. Gas prices are really low, and we have some extra money, so I think now is a great time to go on a "family trip!" I'm super excited.
My brother, Jason, and his wife Terrie are going to be sealed on the 27th in the Oakland Temple, so it would be fun to be there for that, too!
I have to admit, as fun as it all will be, I'm nervous. It'll be our first big road trip where we are in charge of everything. I know we'll be fine. It's a big step for me, as an adult though! I told Keith it will be good for us, not only for a vacation from everything, but as a test to see how we handle things. It's definately going to be an adventure!
