Our tree kinda has a story behind it. It was the display tree at Hobby Lobby last year, so the lights were almost always on. So by the time it got sold, it was after Christmas. The person who bought it brought it back because "the lights didn't work properly," and it says that on the box in sharpie marker. Our boss, Rob, was literally about to toss it in the compactor, and Keith stopped him and asked how much he could buy it for. Rob said "Two dollars" and it was a done deal, we bought it and took it home that night. We didn't check the condition of it until last Friday, and like I said, it worked fine. There's a little patch of lights that don't work, but we just turn that against the wall. Oh, by the way, our tree is BLACK. As night. I feel like it's the ugly duckling tree because whenever we tell people about it they think "ew." and think drab and depressing. I thought it would be a very unique touch and I had lots of ideas for color themes. It's so much fun, because you could pretty much choose any color combination and it will look great. Keith and I chose red, green, silver and white. I love it!
Nooni, our cat, loves it. She lays under/by it and just looks at it. At first she batted around the ornaments, but hopefully she's lost interest. I just hope she doesn't try to climb it!
