Finally out of Utah

We're in Texas now! It feels great. I have missed the warm weather, especially the warm evenings!

Before we left, I had a great weekend with my California friends. I'll miss them a bunch. Our friend Evan got married so I got to see everyone one last time before I left. Brittney came over on Sunday night and we stayed up late talking. It was nice.

It was a pretty stressful weekend, with the traveling coming up and having to get everything packed or thrown away. Thankfully it's all over with though, and we're getting settled in.

We have been unpacking and buying supplies for painting. I'm having a hard time choosing the color I'm going to paint the bedroom. We've been spending a lot of time with our family, which has been nice.

A LOT of things have changed in San Antonio. You would be surprised. There are a lot of new buisnesses. Tonight Keith and I are going to the new movie theater called Alamo Draft House - for adults only! No kids or obnoxious teenagers! It should be fun.

Anyway, that's all for now. It's good to be home.

Weird Week...

I'll start with Saturday. We had a garage sale! We had allll kinds of nice things that we had to get rid of that was just unnecessary to take with us on the move. Most of the stuff was brand new (some still in their original boxes). If I had gone to this garage sale, I would have been like "JACKPOT!".

People bought the weirdest things. I don't get it! There were like 200 Hispanic people that came and they all bought wires, clothes, ladders, broken electronics, and left all the good stuff! Some bought some good things, but the majority that we had afterwards was all nice things. I would see a young Caucasian couple come and I would be like "YES, they're going to buy our good stuff" But they would just drive on by. It was Weird.

My friends Evan and Jason came and I was giving stuff away. I also brought stuff to the get-together we had later and gave things to them. So at least someone appreciates it! lol

Later that night Keith and I went to our friends' barbecue. It was good to do that one last time before we leave again. I'm gonna miss my friends here so much.
When the sun started to go down the mosquitoes came out. I was getting bitten like crazy so after a while I REALLY needed to go somewhere indoors or I would go insane.
When we got to our house I was really itchy all over. One of the bites was particularly worse than the other. The next day I looked at it and it was DARK RED and THE SIZE OF MY HAND. I have never reacted to a mosquito (or any bite for that matter) like that before. It was crazy! Keith was looking online to see what it might be. We didn't see any puncture spots so we didn't think it was a spider, but it's the only thing that makes sense at this point. It's Thursday now and it's still there, but this morning I noticed that it's faded. It was super weird.

Another weird thing happened while I was at work on Monday. It was about 7:15pm and so I was cleaning up my section of the store, when I hear over the intercom: "Attention customers, will the owner of a silver Toyota come to the front of the store - Your car just rolled across the parking lot." A customer near me laughed. I didn't hear the annoucement very well the first time, so I asked the customer what was said. When she told me, we both laughed and then she said "I guess I shouldn't laugh, they could have hit my car." I laughed and said "Or mine!" Then I realized that I should go check out the situation.

When I walked to the front windows it had looked like it hit a co-worker of mine's car. When I said that, my manager wanted me to check it out. WELL it turns out that my car was there in front of the co-workers car and it had gotten smashed. I was calm. I had insurance, and it wasn't my fault anyway. Plus, I knew that this would keep me from having to work for a while that night. The police came and did a report, but we couldn't find the owner of the silver Toyota anywhere. After a half hour of being out there, the family who owned the car came and were in shock. They had been at Applebees where they had parked the car. The car rolled from Applebees to Hobby Lobby, which is like 4 stores away. Crazy. Anyway, so my car is in the shop right now and we get to play with a white Dodge Avenger now. I loves it! I want to keeps it.

My car:

Hot new rental car:

The only thing is, is that I have to jack the seat up all the way in order to see over the steering wheel. lol. I'm short.

OH, so when I got back into Hobby Lobby, I was walking up to where I was before to continue cleaning and one of my co workers asked me "Did you hear what happened?" I said "Yeah! I was involved!" She said "No not that! Some guy was in the crafts section making out with the styrafoam head!" "...seriously?". What a bizarre night.

Rough week.

This week has made us feel like we have really made a good decision to move to Texas instead of Florida.

On Monday Keith came to visit me at Hobby Lobby. He walked there from the Walmart auto center where his car was being repaired. He blew out a tire while he was out running arrands, and had to get $350 in repairs done. Surprisingly, when he told me this, I was calm and said "It's a good thing we're not moving to Florida"

On Tuesday I was on my way to Brittney's house, and I texted Keith that I was going to be gone most of the day. He texted me back saying "I'm in the hospital getting stitches. I'm okay. I'll call when I get out." WHAATT? At this point I'm very worried.
He called me about an hour later to tell me the story. He was at a client's house and closed their half-screen, half glass door and the glass part fell off and cut his wrist open! He is getting workers compensation, so we don't have to pay anything (thank goodness)

Wednesday was safe, but today I was on my way to Hobby Lobby to do some shopping, and I spot Keith's work van on the side of the road on University Parkway with a white sedan and a police car. At first I was worried, but then I saw the cars and saw that there was no significant damage done, I shook my head and laughed. Now, he is suspended from work for the rest of the week to "clear his head" haha... Oh, Keith...

Even though the last two surprises didn't cost us anything, I was prepared to pay for something. Every time something has happened, I've been glad that we decided to move to Texas, because we would definitely not be able to afford to move to Florida with all of this happening.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better. :)
