Reflecting...

So I've had this blog for a little over a year now. I went back to read some of the firsts posts and it made me think about how much our lives have changed in a year. Last year at this time Keith and I were both working at Hobby Lobby. It seems like forever ago. Also, if you would have told me then, that in a year we would be living in Florida and working at Disney World, and might just stay there for the rest of our lives, I would have been like "That doesn't make sense. You crazy!"

It's so cool how it all changed though. We decided to quit our jobs, and drove to California all in a week. We had no idea what we were going to do after we got back, but everything just kinda fell into place, like it was supposed to happen this way. Life is good. Hopefully it continues to be. :)

NEW COUCHES = EPIC!

I do not like this couch

Since before we even moved here, I have been looking for some decent couches on craigslist from people willing to deliver, but had no luck. We got that couch pictured above for free from a family in our ward. It was nice to have for a while, but then it started getting old. Keith and I couldn't comfortably sit on it together, and when we had guests, we'd have to get the kitchen chairs out.

So I finally found some couches, and they are perfect. The big sofa is even a sleeper! This is a big deal.

Now all I have to do is get rid of the ugly couch.

5 Months

We've lived in Florida for 5 months! It sure doesn't seem like we've been here that long. Keith's internship ends in a little more than 2 months!

I don't know if I've mentioned it yet, but we're going to stay here for a long time. We love it so much here. We see no reason to move elsewhere. Keith has applied for some professional internships in management at the Disney Parks, so we're really hoping he can get into one of those! It would be awesome. If he doesn't get one, then he's going to extend his current internship. Either way, we're staying put!

Our goal for the future (at the moment) is to stay in Orlando as Keith moves up the ladder at Disney. Hopefully in a couple years he'll have a good enough job so that I don't have to work at all, and we can buy a house and have some kids. I'm excited to see what happens!

Sick... AGAIN.

As soon as I got over my last cold, another one comes along. And at the same time I'm sick, Keith is too. I think I figured it out: It's because we work at Disney World. It's the only down - side to the job.

When I lived with my mom, I got a cold maybe twice a year. There wasn't a lot of germs. Then we had little kids move in with us, and BOOM - I got sick. Every time I'm around kids, I get sick (I'm allergic). lol. Disney World has a ton of coughing, sneezing germ-infested kids. Keith talks to them, and I clean up after them.

Yesterday I had to clean a room where I was warned before I got in there, that the people in there were sick, so I was prepared. Who knows what I've been exposed to when I wasn't warned. I think that's why I'm sick. It's not just me, either. It seems like all the new housekeepers are catching colds. The women who have been there for years have built up their immune system already.

It's okay though, because today is my Friday! I have Tuesday and Wednesday off and I intend to rest the whole time. :)

Project: Organization. - Accomplished!

Yesterday was the end of September, and I met my goal: the apartment is pretty organized!
I went to Target a while back and bought a bunch of 66 gallon plastic totes and drawers. Then I went through everything in the closets and storage closet and minimized space. I flattened all the empty boxes and put everything I'm not using into the plastic totes. I have a couple of totes for decorations, one for bedding, one for crafts, and a miscellaneous box.

I cleaned and went through more things yesterday and did some final touches. Mostly everything has a spot and I have a lot of empty space IN the apartment to put things that I'll actually use.
I feel a lot better. :D
