Jellyrolls

Last night Keith was date night. Keith and I first went to do some Disney mini golfing and had a great time! We went to the "fairways" side so there wasn't any cute obstacles, but it sure was pretty! We had fun. Afterwards we decided to go to the Boardwalk and check out the nightlife there. When we got there I showed him where I work, then we watched a street performer. The fireworks at Epcot started so we watched a little bit of that from the dock, and then we went to JELLYROLLS. It was so fun!
Jellyrolls is a dueling piano bar on the Boardwalk. As cast members, we get in free so we thought we would try it out. We ended staying for 2 hours! It was soooo fun! The pianists play, sing, and we get to sing along. We've never been to a "bar" so it was kinda awkward at first. We didn't know if they even served Coke! But they did. :) We had such a good time. They take requests, and will do ANY song. Some examples: "Baby got Back" "Wonder Boy" and "The Rainbow Connection". SO AMAZING. We love that place. We plan on taking everyone we know there, and going at least once a week.

Fun, fun, work and LOVE.

Fun:
Keith and I finally went to the Magic Kingdom after living here for about a month and a half. It was great! I also rode the Monorail for the first time. I wasn't expecting it to be so fun, but it was! Since you can't see the rail below you out the window, it looks and feels like you're flying! I loved it.

I got a pin that said "1st Visit!" and had a lot of comments on it. I felt special. :)

I couldn't help but compare the park to Disneyland the whole time. To me, I think Disneyland will always be my favorite. I went there first and have such great memories from that time. However, I'm excited to make new memories here that will be just as good!

Fun Item #2:

The American Idol auditions came to town last week and Keith went! We went out the night before to buy him a sexy outfit, and the next morning at 4 in the morning he went to line up. He didn't make it past the 1st round. He got nervous and his voice cracked. Sad story. But he had a lot of fun and got to see Ryan Seacrest from a couple feet away! I'm glad he got to experience it. He's been wanting to go ever since they came to San Antonio!

Work:
I've been working at The Boardwalk for 2 weeks now. I had my training last week and now I'm allll on my own. At first it was a little overwhelming and intimidating, but I've gotten over that. I do about 3-7 rooms a day and that could be anything between taking out the trash and towels, to cleaning everything for a check-out. I actually am enjoying it! I like to take a room that's completely trashed and make it look beautiful again. :D It's a nice environment to work in. Almost everyone is nice (there's a few who have been there too long, so they're bitter). I've even made some friends!

One thing I love about my job is the benefits. Not only do I get discounts and free admittance into the park, but I get free stuff! The guests who check out sometimes leave their things behind. If it's important, we turn it in to lost and found. If it's not, then we keep it! So far I've gotten a Mickey balloon, 3 magazines, laundry detergent, candy, cases of bottled water, hangers, and all kinds of food (unopened). I could probably eat lunch everyday on just what I get in a check out.

The sad thing about my job and Keith's job is that we have a set schedule that doesn't give us Sundays off. Keith hasn't been to church in about a month, and I missed last week and am going to miss this weeks'. It sucks! I like church, and I like the people there. Maybe we can move our schedules around... we'll see.

Love:
Keith and I are lucky enough to have the same days off (for now)! After that, during the week we have overlapping schedules. I work mornings and he works nights. The only time we get to see each other is when either I leave and wake him up to say goodbye, or when he gets home and wakes me up to say hello. If we're lucky we get a couple hours before bedtime together. I think it makes the time we do have very special and fun. Last week on our days off, we rented scary movies and ate junk food. It was awesome. We love being on our own and doing whatever we like. (By the way, we now own all 10 seasons of Friends and are in the middle of season 9! w00t!

That's pretty much all the interesting stuff going on right now. I'll let you know if something else comes up. :)

"You know I don't speak spanish. In ENGLISH please."

I started doing the housekeeping part of my job today. Basically I followed around a housekeeper and she showed me how to do the job. I'll be doing my training for 2 weeks and then I'm on my own!

My trainer is from Puerto Rico and has a really thick accent. So needless to say, there were some communication problems. At Hobby Lobby I worked with a lady in which we had a similar problem, so I can understand the accent pretty well, it's just me trying to explain things to her that is the problem. Also, about 70% of the housekeepers there speak spanish, so when my trainer would see another housekeeper, she would speak spanish to them and leave me to myself. That happened a lot.

ALSO, since I look latina, I've gotten a LOT of people that just ASSUME that I speak spanish and will talk 100 miles an hour at me. I say "No hablo espaƱol" and they say "ooh..." It's actually really funny.

So maybe I'll learn some spanish while I'm here!

Nooni-Cat is here!

I have a great husband. I was talking to my mom on Skype a couple weeks ago about how and when we would be able to get Nooni to me. The options were 1: My mom puts her on a plane and flys her here, 2: We drive and meet halfway between Texas and Florida and swap her along with all my things I left there, or 3: leave her with my mom. I thought meeting halfway would be best so that I could get my Christmas decorations and such too. It was hard finding a time to do that since we both had things we had to to at church, and my first day of work would be soon after that and I didn't want to take my chances of missing it. Plus, I'm not very confident when it comes to driving long distances by myself. Sooo... Keith offered to do it. He always has 2 days off in a row, so it worked out perfectly.

He left at 7 in the morning and met my mom in Mississippi. My mom stayed the night there but Keith just turned around back to Florida immediately. He came home around 3 in the morning, and Nooni was all happy to see me. :)

In the car, Nooni didn't have a problem with my mom, and for Keith she was doing good until the end. Apparently she had had enough. She BURST out of her cage and was crawling around in the back seat meowing and hissing. REALLY weird, but I'm sure she was just really scared.

I'm just so happy to have my kitty back!
